In 1975 the old Church of England primary school in School Road, Woodley was bought by the Romsey Extra Parish Council from the Church Commissioners in order that Romsey Extra might have a village hall. Generous grants from the County, the Borough Council and the Parish Council, together with a local appeal, eventually raised the funds to replace the old buildings with a custom built Hall. The old school was demolished in April and the new Hall completed in October 1986.
It currently offers three function rooms for hire: the main hall (Woodley Room), a spacious hall and raised stage suitable for larger functions, theatricals, meetings, dance etc; the Crampmoor Room, a mid-sized room suitable for smaller functions and events; and a smaller room, the Ganger Room is also available for committee meetings and similar functions, and as an additional room if required for use in conjunction with the main hall.
The Hall has been the home of the local NOMADS amateur dramatics group since its inception. NOMADS assisted with the original fund raising and have continued to put on shows, plays, pantomime and other events ever since, raising money for local charities in the process.

Rooms are available for hire for community events, private functions and parties, and appropriate commercial hire.

We offer a program of training, racing and social events, and there is no pressure to do any more than you feel capable of doing. There is however, lots of encouragement from like minded people who understand the pains and joys of running.

For those of you who may not have heard of us NOMADS is a small amateur dramatic group based in Woodley in Romsey. Since the Woodley Village hall was opened they have been using it as a permanent meeting place in which to rehearse and stage productions to entertain the local community and support local charities.  A great deal of experience has been gained over the years in all the different areas needed to stage a successful production from publicity to stage management and this has been passed on to new members. NOMADS try to ensure that every member has the chance to participate in whatever way they can and this can often mean doing a bit of everything ! Regular meetings are held most Fridays at 8 p.m.,
